About The Nature Classroom
Welcome to The Nature Classroom! Our goal here is to create a love and respect for all animals and the environment, starting with our littlest learners!
We are excited to bring nature classes to the southwest Florida area, and hope that you will join us in one of our engaging, hands-on programs where we will discover and explore through the most powerful tool for kids - play! Ms. Rachel
Hi everyone! I'm Rachel, and I am the founder and owner of The Nature Classroom! II have been an environmental educator for 15+ years, teaching those of all ages all about nature, wildlife, and conservation. I previously have run education programs at zoos and nature centers, as well as taught in the formal school system. I started The Nature Classroom in 2020, as I was getting my son ready for Kindergarten during the pandemic. We called our pre-kindergarten routine "The Nature Classroom", and themed all of our play and learning activities around wildlife and the environment. And now I love that I can bring my background in wildlife education to our community, teaching and inspiring your little ones to love nature and animals.
Ms. Kirsti
Hi I'm Kirsti, and I am an Iowa native with a degree in Marine Environmental Technology and over 12 years of animal training experience. Most recently I closed the chapter on a 10 year career at Naples Zoo where I started as a Show Keeper, working my way up to Field Supervisor of Ambassadors, and in my last year, took on the role of Animal Registrar. I am excited to continue my passion of educating families about the importance of animals and how we cal all play a role in keeping the environment thriving.
Ms. Sam
I am joining The Nature Classroom team with ~10 years of experience in environmental education, animal care, scientific research, and wildlife rehabilitation. I am looking forward to sharing my love of the natural world with families through hands-on learning! In my free time, I enjoy exploring the spaces and discovering the plants and animals that call those spaces home.
